I sold the other Larue parts but this upper comes with a 16 inch Stretch 16 stainless fluted barrel and a forward controls gas block and tube.Looking for a new AR. My choices are down to to the Larue UU kit in 6.5 Grendel or Daniel Defense DDM4V7 in 5.56. The weapon would be mostly used for range shooting and light 3 gun. The price is basically the same for both, which would you choose and why? I took it apart today and checked the gas block to make sure the set screws were aligned with the dimple and they were perfect. I even switched gas tubes and it's still doing the same thing. could the barrel dimple alignment be out of spec? it's a 20" Wilson Combat in a LaRue UU kit.The Larue would us the nicer set of forgings. You can get nicer barrels than a Larue but most of them are going to run a lot more. Expect to pay $400-550 for something nicer than a Larue barrel. For the money Larue is really nice. Aero will have a greater parts availability but the nicest manufacturers tend to use the SR25 pattern.The chassis comes with the uu kit. They also sell it separately I belive. Yours probably won't have it. Honestly it isn't as cool as I thought it would be. The safety wouldn't work and I couldn't try the reset. But that doesn't bother me and I'm very happy with everything. The psa lower seems to fit with it really well too.Honestly, kind of wish they'd just bring back UU kits. I'll start - BCA uppers starting around $320. GREAT budget uppers. Budget folks, budget. Anything $600+ shouldn't even be in this thread. I ordered a larue uu last week.
