Jan 16, 2022 · Calculus (derived from Latin meaning "small pebble" {calx - limestone, chalk, small stone}) is a method of calculating with small stones which in modern times translates into a method of computation with specific rules. An interesting note is that calculus as a small stone (like kidney stones) is still used in medicine today.
